Ashley Horner is revolutionizing the role that fitness professionals can serve in the world. She’s a mother, athlete, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, who takes a “no mountain is too high” approach to work and life. Through the broad reach of her social platforms, she is a strong proponent of women’s empowerment. Ashley encourages women all around the world to live boldly, love fiercely, and push every boundary.
A leading woman in the fitness industry for a decade, Ashley is a hybrid athlete, who has competed as a professional fitness competitor, ultrarunner, and triathlete. She has authored more than 15 training and nutrition programs that have sold over one million copies globally. Her accomplishments have led to several corporate sponsorships.
Ashley’s entrepreneurial endeavors are as diverse as her fitness interests. She owns a training facility, American Sled Dogs, where she has created a community of athletes who encourage each other to reach their full potential. She developed the Valkyrie Surf & Snow apparel company that outfits active women for when they’re in the mountains, at the beach, or on the town. In 2016 she opened Virginia Beach’s exclusive coffee and whiskey bar, The American Brew.
An inspiration to women around the world, Ashley believes in giving back to others. All of her various companies donate a portion of their sales to her 501(c)(3) non-profit, Unbroken Foundation. The foundation provides financial assistance to victims of domestic violence as they transition from unstable home environments.
Ashley is also very involved with humanitarian work at the Maison Fortune Orphanage in Hinche, Haiti. She has developed a special bond with the children and staff over the last two years, and they are the primary beneficiary of her charitable efforts.
Her motto, “I stand for the broken,” describes the strength of her commitment to those in need.

Ashley is a world-class athlete, but also a mom, which sometimes requires succumbing to guilty culinary pleasures. “I eat a mediocre clean diet 80% of the time,” she says. “I believe in eating nutrient-dense, whole foods from the earth. However, because I’m a mom of three little boys, I also eat ice cream and pizza weekly.”
As you would expect from an athlete as versatile as Ashley, she has a diverse approach to training, utilizing a wide range of activities. Her goal is to challenge herself, while ensuring she’s prepared for some of the most difficult physical competitions ever created. “I am a hybrid athlete. I cross train and will do anything from running, biking, swimming, powerlifting, ultra running, bodybuilding, and rock climbing.”
